About

Bako Youth Development Foundation(BYDEF) is a Not for Profit Organization established in 1998 and registered with the Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission Reg. No. CAC/IT/NO90680.

BYDEF envisions youths fully developed and contributing positively to the development of the society and with the mission to develop potentials in youths that can enhance their moral, physical and economic development as well as commitment to contribute to community life.

Our target beneficiaries include Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Widows, Youths with vulnerabilities. The organization has a seven-member board of trustees, 23 paid staff, 65 volunteers and 40 community facilitators. BYDEF is currently working with three (3) partners namely; Centre for integrated Health Programs (CIHP), Save the Children International (SCI) and Society for Family Health (SFH). BYDEF works to enhance better life of people living and affected by HIV/AIDS, and other health issues in Nigeria. We also build capacity of vulnerable people for self reliance through and house hold economic strengthening, Income Generating Activities and Vocational training initiatives.

Who We Are

The Youth Challenge(TYC) began when our constitution came into force on 18 February 1998, a date we now celebrate every year as Bako Youth Development Foundation(BYDEF) day. The Organization is now transformed from TYC to BYDEF. The organization has also given birth to Eunice Youth Empowerment Support Centre. We are now more than 80people working in 53 communities in 3 LGAs and at our head office in Kaduna.
